Never used a wallet?

You don't need an account to enshrine your tattoo — there are none here. You need a wallet: a keychain that lives on your phone, belongs only to you, and holds your token forever. Setting one up takes about 15 minutes, and you only ever do it once.

  1. Get a wallet

    Install MetaMask on your phone — from metamask.io, nowhere else. Open it and create a new wallet.

  2. Guard the 12 words

    MetaMask will show you a 12-word recovery phrase. Write it on paper and keep it somewhere safe. That phrase IS the wallet: whoever has it owns everything in it, and if you lose it, nobody can recover it. Not us, not MetaMask, not anyone. That's not a flaw — it's what makes the wallet genuinely yours.

  3. Add some ETH

    You'll need enough ETH to cover the mint price plus a little for network fees. The simplest path: buy it by card directly inside MetaMask. If you already use an exchange, send ETH from there to your new wallet's address instead.

  4. Take the photo

    Good light, tattoo clearly visible — a normal phone photo is perfect, in any format. Your photo's location data is stripped automatically before anything is stored, so the image carries your ink, not your whereabouts.

  5. Enshrine it

    Open enshrine.tattoo inside MetaMask's built-in browser (menu → Browser) — connecting just works there. Tap Connect Wallet, upload the photo, review, and confirm the payment in the popup. A minute later it's done: your tattoo, on-chain, forever.

Everything above happens in your wallet, on your phone — we never see your recovery phrase, hold your ETH, or run accounts. What “forever” means here, exactly, is written down before you pay: how it works.
